2021 was the year of change. So much has happened this past year and we can all agree that change can be pretty exhausting. But it has also taught us a lot. We have shifted, adapted and modified our ways of thinking to meet these changes.
THE YEAR IN RETROSPECT
Shifting towards a digital world meant updating and revising old ideas. The pandemic has forced some businesses towards e-commerce as physical storefronts closed. Learning how to maintain an online connection with people became increasingly important. Here at Driftpoint Media, we’ve made this happen for a variety of businesses, including RECON Rings and the soon-to-be-opened Navy SEAL Museum Shopify store, to name a few.
This year, we had the opportunity to diversify our portfolio with some awesome projects, including:
- Attending One Lap of America as a media group and, for the first time, designing their event yearbook
- Revamping several brands to better match their mission statements, much like what we’ve done for Home Start Hope
- Building new websites for local business start-ups around Rochester, like the Seneca Lakehouse
We’ve also added a new team member, Elley! As one of our creative designers, she’s been essential in developing digital assets for use in client newsletters and on social media.
LESSONS
Meeting the ever-changing demands of business, marketing and design trends has taught us a few things. There is definitely still some uncertainty in direction as businesses continue to shut down or rearrange structure due to the pandemic, lack of staffing, and updates to modern technology. The effects of the pandemic and shifted business models on local, small businesses does mean that we need to adapt quickly but remain authentic.
