One Lap of America

BACKGROUND

One of our favorite events to cover for the year, One Lap of America is less of a project and more of an addiction. For 8 days in May we get to drive around the country chasing some of the most real track events you could imagine all to capture it in photos.

While Brock Yates’ One Lap of America (OLOA) has had media coverage before, it takes a different kind of photographer to drive the same marathon route as the racing teams to capture the essence of the event. Driftpoint Media’s origin story came from One Lap so it was only fitting to return, not as a competitor, but to help photograph the event that we fell in love with.

As a digital marketing agency, we have produced catalogs and sales material, but this was our first “yearbook” together. The processing of thousands of images for every team is no simple task and we have an appreciation for how many hours and how many talented people it takes to make it happen.

The One Lap of America Yearbook is a tradition that started long before we came into the role and we are proud to continue putting that together for its competitors. The images go beyond the book as we work with publications and media developers to share that week in photos.
