While Brock Yates’ One Lap of America (OLOA) has had media coverage before, it takes a different kind of photographer to drive the same marathon route as the racing teams to capture the essence of the event. Driftpoint Media’s origin story came from One Lap so it was only fitting to return, not as a competitor, but to help photograph the event that we fell in love with. Stephen Burke, owner of Driftpoint Media and once an OLOA competitor, and his colleague Gabriel Enders, had the honor of stepping in to fill the shoes of Steve Rossini from Highland Design Studio for the 2021 event.
As a digital marketing agency, we have produced catalogs and sales material, but this was our first “yearbook” together. The processing of thousands of images for every team is no simple task and we have an appreciation for how many hours and how many talented people it takes to make it happen. The result was a 120-page memory book that showcases the 8-day, 3,558-mile, 10-track event through immersive and live-action photography, and features driver stories, track statistics, and a little bit of OLOA history.
The Driftpoint Media team is packing up its gear for the 2022 event on April 30th and we can’t wait to hop in our media truck, drive across country, and rejoin the OLOA drivers to capture and preserve this year’s memories.
